    AND the answer .... both are an oxymoron, things used to describe something that in its very definition doesn't exist. Definition: ox·y·mo·ron /ˌäksəˈmôrˌän/ noun a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction (e.g. faith unfaithful kept him falsely true ). A 1099 employee is not a real thing. Its something used to describe a real thing. And it is used commonly every day. What people are referencing when they say they have 1099 employees,
